Pender Tools Library only works because everyone treats it like a community of neighbours, not a rental company. A few simple expectations keep it that way:
Treat borrowed tools as your own
Handle every tool you borrow with the same care you'd give something you own, and return it clean and in the condition you received it.
Speak up if something goes wrong
Damage or a malfunction can happen to anyone. If it does, tell the owner as soon as possible instead of staying quiet — most things are easy to work out when you're upfront about it.
Reimburse if a tool becomes unusable
If a tool is damaged beyond repair while in your care, you're expected to reimburse the owner for its replacement. If the tool was already old or well-worn, the two of you can agree to split the cost instead.
